Sterilization of Manicure Tools

The sterilization of manicure tools is not just a recommendation, but a rigorous requirement and the main indicator of professional manicure and pedicure. Only impeccable adherence to the sterilization protocol guarantees client safety and protects the technician's reputation. The tool treatment process consists of three mandatory stages.

Three Mandatory Stages of Sterilization

1. Disinfection.

Immediately after use, tools are immersed in a special disinfectant solution (liquid concentrate, for example, Alaminol or its analogs). This destroys most viruses, fungi, and bacteria.

2. Pre-Sterilization Cleaning (PSC).

The goal of this stage is the mechanical removal of all visible contamination (skin remnants, blood, materials). Often, to improve cleaning quality, an ultrasonic bath is used. After PSC, instruments are thoroughly rinsed with running water and completely dried.

3. Sterilization.

This is the final and most important stage, which eliminates all forms of microorganisms, including spores. For professional tools, two main types of apparatus are used:

• Hot Air Sterilizer (Dry Heat Sterilizer): Treatment is carried out with hot dry air at a high temperature.

• Autoclaves: They use steam at high pressure and are considered the most reliable sterilization method.

Equipment and Materials

To ensure safety, you will need certified disinfectant liquids and a reliable hot air sterilizer or autoclave. Choose professional sterilization apparatus (for example, from Ulka or Saeyang) to ensure that all manicure tools receive complete and proper treatment.
